Clean with a soft cloth (no steel wool). For limescale, soak in white vinegar or lemon juice, then rinse.

Replace every two weeks for effective purification and to prevent contamination.

Are there any other recommendations for use?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product! This thing is quiet! It’s super easy to clean compared to my previous plastic fountain, and it stays much cleaner too! I really like this fountain because the reservoir is also metal, which was important to me since I was switching to stainless because I didn’t want any plastic to touch my cat’s water. A lot of comparable fountains I saw while shopping around had plastic reservoirs and only stainless steel on top, which defeats the whole purpose if you ask me.The pump comes apart just a bit for easier cleaning, and the sponge is easy to clean too – though they do recommend replacing that along with the filter every two weeks so you may not need to. The filters do the job well and don’t seem to be made of a fibrous plastic (the previous fountain I used sometimes shed little fibers from the filter and those were fully synthetic material besides the active ingredients).It’s cute, it’s quiet, my cats like if just as much as their last fountain, and I’m happier knowing it isn’t leaching plastic or housing harmful amounts of bacteria or mold. My cat started drinking noticeably more water within the first few days, which was exactly what I was hoping for. The continuous flow seems to encourage hydration, and it’s nice knowing my pet always has access to fresh, filtered water. One of my biggest advantages is the stainless steel design. It feels much more hygienic than plastic fountains, is easy to clean, and doesn’t retain odors or stains. The fountain looks modern and blends in nicely with my home, while the water reservoir holds enough water that I don’t have to refill it constantly. The pump runs quietly for the most part and I can barely hear it when the water level is full. Assembly was simple, replacing the filters is straightforward. I also appreciate that replacement filters are readily available, making long-term maintenance easy. I had been on the fence about buying one of these but after researching fountains I decided on this model and I am so glad I did. It is very quiet, simple to assemble and very easy to clean. I have a senior cat who I wanted to encourage to drink more water and this has done the trick. I adopted another kitty about 5 months ago, she was a stray so was a little intimidated by this for about 1/2 a day. Now she loves it! I highly recommend this fountain if you are looking to get your furry friend to drink more water. I also love the color- the sage green goes perfect with my dining room decor. Had to take the tulip off because one of my boys have a really big and wide snout so the water went everywhere when he was trying to lop it up. But works great without the tulip part. It still flows and filters. Easy to clean and replace filters. Love the light. It helps me to see when I need to add water. Over all big win and keeps the boys from gulping to much water all at once. One of my boys were drink so fast it made him vomit right after he drank this has definitely helped that. He has not vomited once since switching to this. Which makes it worth it by itself!!! In this case, the pet fountain worked as expected for about a month or so — then the water pump began to weaken. I checked various things (cleaned, looked for obstructions, etc.), but couldn’t find a specific cause. I contacted the product support team via Amazon, and was happy with how quickly they responded.The support folks offered a few recommendations, then advised to contact them again if the problem persisted. When it did, they shipped a new water pump within a couple of days. I used My Lovely Feline for years (and it is a great fountain) however plastic is more difficult to clean. This holds a gallon of distilled water.
