5.0 out of 5 stars Got us through the first night I got my puppy yesterday and this is, so far, the best thing I purchased. He wrestles with it and sleeps against it. He slept through the night which I totally did not expect. The toy is bigger than he is and that make the whole thing just that much cuter. I have a feeling I will be going through a lot of batteries but I think it’s completely worth it.The toy is soft and so far has taken the little guys teeth with no tearing. I’ll update further if he manages to rip it open or anythingUpdate: No tearing and I did put in a hand warmer overnight to see how that worked. It made the toy warm enough to the touch to be comforting but not too hot. I’m not sure my puppy noticed or cared and I haven’t done it since. He loves to wrestle with this and sleeps next to or on top of it whenever it’s nap time.Update May 2017 — He loves this toy, he still sleeps with it every night. It hasn’t had a heartbeat or the warmer in years but it is still his go to sleep toy. It goes with him to boarding and on every trip. He still has the original stuffy though it doesn’t have ears or eyes anymore. I had to wash it once due to an explosion in the crate, with a lot of bleach, and it fared very well. He wasn’t sure about it for a few days as it didn’t smell right anymore, but he soon fell in love with it again. Im very impressed with the quality as this has lasted three plus years of pretty constant mauling.Five Year Update: He still loves this toy. I keep considering getting a new one and swapping them out but it’s held up surprisingly well.Seven Year Update: My neighbors got a puppy and she just cried the whole first night in the crate. I got her one of these and the difference is amazing. She hears the heartbeat and goes directly into her crate!I broke down and got my dog another one, even though this is a big pricey for the size of toy. He is in love. He has spent hours cuddling with this in the past two days. I put up a pic of the old one vs new one. I finally washed the old one and it’s better, but he LOVES the new one. I was being sentimental as it was the toy I had with me when I picked him up from the breeder, but apparently he doesn’t care. 4.0 out of 5 stars My dog hates it, but I love it My soul dog recently passed away, so I bought this for his bonded (adult female Labrador) friend. She hated it from the start. Maybe it works better for puppies, but my dog is completely unnerved by the heartbeat. Refused to lay near it or even look at it.However, I definitely think this could be marketed as a tool for grieving dog owners. My pet may have hated it, but the heartbeat is surprisingly grounding and comforting to me. I’ve been having trouble sleeping since he passed, but the constant beat helps.Giving four stars *only* because the heartbeat can be a little intense. I wish there was an option to either turn it down or to buy a less powerful one. For anyone saying this toy isn’t “cute”, they’re being too fancy. It’s soft and adorable. 5.0 out of 5 stars I think this saved me! I love this Snuggle Puppy and cannot recommend it enough. My 8 week old lab puppy was doing very well in crate at night and willing would go in and out for meals, etc. But shut the door for a nap and he began the hysterics. And he did not stop which meant all day I had to have eyes on as he would sleep in area I had created in kitchen, outside of crate, for him to get use to living here (so needed watching) or listen to him cry and bark. I truly thought I was going to lose my mind and wanted to sob in the corner and functioning was impossible I was so tired. I was confident it was not the crate (tested my theory with creating slightly larger “playpen” like area and as soon as in there alone crying started). I kept researching what to do and nothing was helping and then I found a couple comments about this item. I figured it would be the best $40 I ever spent or the worst. It is the BEST! First time I put it in crate with my puppy he did not let out a single cry or bark and slept for 1.5 hours. It has continued to work each time and even helps him fall back asleep or stay more quietly playing in crate for a bit. Still exhausted but feel like we might make it. Treats it like a security blanket and loves to sleep next to it. I find him resting his head on it. Carries it around with him all over the house. It’s well constructed and durable. He loved it and I truly think the heart beat was key. I left it in motion activation mode and it worked like a charm. He is 8 months now and still loves it.
