4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to really help my very old very arthritic dog Update, May 9th, 2023: I still think this stuff works great and I love how it’s helping our old girl, but how in the world can they justify the cost going up 20 bucks in less than a year?! It was expensive to begin with but $80 now?! So dogs with arthritis that don’t have rich families just get to suffer in pain? I’m so disappointed with this price hike. Took a star off for this.I started my 14 year old yellow lab on Dasuquin right from the vets office back in August. Within a month I would see a difference in how she was moving. Before Dasuquin she was struggling to get up and down flights of stairs. She couldn’t run. She can no longer jump up and stand on her hind legs. If you walk behind her, you can see how she holds her hips that she’s definitely in pain.But since starting her on Dasuquin, WOW. What a difference. She still cannot stand on her hind legs but now she can go up and down stairs again, she *tries* to run, which will actually last about 2 seconds before she realizes she’s physically unable to anymore. She will go on a walk or hike now and last about a mile.I know I cannot make her into a puppy again, and I was really resisting trying anything stronger on her in the way of meds. I knew she was struggling but didn’t want to drug her up. Dasuquin seems to be the middle ground I was looking for and will continue to give her until the day comes that she absolutely needs something stronger.She’s been around a long time and has had a great life with so much love. She was found as a stray with puppies and turned into the local shelter. We strongly suspect she escaped a puppy mill. There are a lot in the area where she was found. When we went up to the shelter to look at dogs, all the puppies had already been adopted out. She was alone in a kennel, looking pretty sad. As soon as my ex husband’s eyes and hers met, I knew it was all over. It was love at first sight. I knew she would be coming to live with us. And she’s been with us for the past 12 years, watching our children grow, protecting them and her yard, being such a great dog.Unfortunately my ex is in a place now where he’s not allowed to have a dog so I’ve taken her until he can take her back. She’s ok, she’s still with her pack, she lived with me for years and most of the kids are still home. She lives with our other dog Paz and they have a very good life hanging out together. We will certainly miss her lots when it’s time for her to leave us and I think we are all preparing ourselves mentally for that day but while she’s still here I’m going to make sure I can do what I can to keep her as comfortable and pain free as possible. She’s still a very happy dog so Dasuquin must be doing something right!I highly recommend. It’s expensive but worth it.Update, about a year later: Silly me I thought we would try to go with a less expensive brand that seemed to have the same active ingredients. My dog paid the price. She was obviously in pain again. Gave up and got another bag of dasaquin and she’s right back to feeling good again. I’m sorry, Molly, I won’t switch your arthritis relief again. 5.0 out of 5 stars This chewy supplement really helps my old dog move again. It is worth every penny. This chewable supplement is remarkable! My dog is 13 and was acting like his back hip was slipping out of joint. He started having trouble walking and getting up and supporting his weight. I started giving him an analgesic pill every other day to reduce inflamation and it helped his pain level but I only had two left after two weeks and I could see the problem wasn’t going away. I was about to take him to the vet when a chance aquaintance told me about Nutramax Dasuquin. She said it really helps her old dog’s joints. So I ordered it. At first my dog didn’t want to try it (he thought I was trying to fool him with another pill). But once he tasted it, he liked it. I give him one chewy at morning and one at night. Within three days I noticed a difference in him. It has been two weeks now and he is in no pain and wants to run like a puppy. There has been so much improvement, I think he will be with us for awhile longer. With Dasuquin, the groans almost stopped, and when we ran out and tried Wuffes instead, the groans came back. While she was racing around on Dasuqin, the Wuffes don’t seem to work as well.For some kinds of age-related aches, Dasuqin seems to do a better job at relieving pain and improving mobility. The dog loves the taste (to be honest, she loves Wuffes, too), and it’s so much easier just to give her a yummy, chewable than trying to wrestle her, prise her jaws open, and jam a pill way down in her throat so she can’t spit it out (she’s SOOOO good at that).And, hey, the Dasuqin is cheaper–though when it comes to our dog, price isn’t our first concern.Variation: Size: 42 CountStyle: Large Dog (Over 60 lbs)

The Nutramax smell like every other dog treat or supplement of this type. They are slightly larger that some others we used. They are more expensive. But they do not cause digestive issues. They are easily chewed and my pups LOVE them – so make sure you do not provide over dosage. I heard these joint supplements were top-notch, so I was eager to try them. I can’t comment on their effectiveness in terms of joint health, as my dog was in peak health already before taking these supplements and I have her on them to keep her that way, but my goodness she loves the taste!! I don’t know what kind of drugs they put in these things but wow, my service dog goes crazy for them. If you have a big dog, watching them start to stiffen up or hesitate before jumping into the car is heartbreaking. After trying a few different joint supplements, we landed on Dasuquin with MSM, and it has honestly been a game-changer. The Big Win: They Actually Taste Good. Let’s be real—the hardest part of dog supplements is getting them to eat the darn things. Hiding giant pills in cheese or peanut butter gets old fast. Thankfully, these are soft chews, and my dog absolutely loves them. The second I crinkle the bag, she comes running and sits down, drooling. To her, it’s just a really good daily treat, which makes my life so much easier. To start, your dog will take 2 treats daily. Eventually, winding down to one treat. It took about a month of daily use, but the difference is huge. The morning stiffness she used to have is less, and she’s back to initiating playtime and running around the yard like she used to. It’s not the cheapest supplement out there, but seeing my dog move around comfortably and happily makes it worth every penny. I decided that it might be time to start him on some joint meds. Omg 3 days in and what a difference! Today for the first time in a long time he wanted me to keep throwing his favorite ball for him. I’m in tears because this product is that amazing! Yes it’s expensive, I feel but it is so worth it. My old man is acting like the younger self again. At first he wasn’t too excited to take them but added little bit of spray cheese on them and down the hatch they go. After a month on these two a day I keep that dose going the dog is jumping leaping pulling playing zooming around the yard. Amazing!! And she eats them without any problems.
