5.0 out of 5 stars Seems to work really well Almost five months ago, I adopted a rescue kitty from the local shelter that partners with pet stores. I already had two cats so it’s been a challenge. They told us he’d been somewhat abused but I don’t think they knew the full extent. The first night we let him out of a confined area (bathroom), he sprayed/peed in our bedroom and it was an awful stench. I’ve had cats all my life and never had one do this in the house. Back to the pet store the next day for supplies and have kept this spray on hand since.To be clear, they informed us he was three years old, hadn’t been neutered til they got him, and that he’d been kicked at some point and was missing a tooth. We’re pretty sure it was a worse situation than that, but with the help of this spray, MOSTLY, he has calmed down a lot and is unlearning the bad behaviors of his last ‘home’. A home that kicked him outside for spraying, but I’m certain caused that behavior by failing to neuter along with other suspected abuse/neglect.Our newest friend is not perfect and still has a ways to go, but he has made lots of progress and I am sure this feliway spray is a huge factor in that. Every time I’ve gone ~48 hours without spraying, all three cats are more on edge. I refused to take him back since he’d already been returned once. For what I think he went through, I am incredibly grateful this spray exists to help him adjust to our home. I didn’t see much of a difference to an individual cat when traveling/overgrooming.But after getting a second cat (orange) and trying the spray in this area they both were attracted to it, hissing stopped(from grey), and we started sleeping with!! I have had 2 very skittish cats, both due to illnesses and their required multiple vet visits. After a while the visits became more and more stressful on both the cats and me, but I started using the spray and it definitely helped!About 20 minutes before we leave the house I spray the inside of the carrier and her favorite blanket to lay on which gives it time to dry/dissipate, and the result is amazing. No more (or very limited) crying and howling on the ride there, minimal stress during the exam, and much easier to get proper readings on labs or imaging!I have also used the plug-in type Feliway for my first cat when he began spraying (even though he was neutered!) and he stopped after a short while.I would definitely recommend Feliway. Whatever is in this product definitely works and I cannot find anything negative to say about it. I will say that since it works so well, please don’t overdo using the spray. Use it as needed and in just the quantity that it takes to get the job done. It is great for redirecting behavior and forming new (better) habits but should not be used simply to take the kitten out of the cat, if you know what I mean.Oh, one last thing…. It was amazing seeing my cat more relaxed on the way home from the vet. They told me they sprayed inside his carrier this stuff because he was stressed. He was so good on the way home, he wasn’t like doped up after getting out of the carrier. I’m so happy that this product did everything the Vet said it would, easy to use spray bottle lasts for a decent amount of time, can use around pet’s bedding and other areas your cats are usually around. Definitely made sure I had it this past July 4th just in case. But it’s a good thing to help your fur babies when they get stressed. Recommended to use before you take your cat to the vet or going on a trip. Also comes in plug in as well as the spray. I got the small bottle and it has lasted,no smelly odor,decent price and we use it as needed for one fur baby. A few sprays on the usual spots and then I waited for serenity to descend upon the household.Nothing visibly happened.And maybe that’s the point.My cat didn’t suddenly forgive the vacuum cleaner. She didn’t approach me and explain that she’s finally made peace with the fact that the red dot cannot be captured. She didn’t apologize for knocking a glass off the counter while maintaining eye contact.She simply seemed… less concerned.Which got me thinking.Maybe calm isn’t happiness.Maybe calm is just the temporary absence of believing something needs to be different.My cat doesn’t know what’s in this bottle. She doesn’t know what pheromones are.
